title: "Credible Threats Against Physical Integrity"
description: "Distinguishing credible real-world threats of violence from online gaming hyperbole, criteria for evaluation, and intervention procedures."
---

## Directive Objective
Identify, evaluate, and neutralize credible statements of intent to commit real-world physical violence against individuals, communities, or public infrastructure.

---

## 1. Scope and Policy Coverage
This directive regulates explicit threats of physical violence:
- **Direct Violent Intent**: Statements expressing a specific intent to assault, murder, kidnap, torture, or physically harm an identified person or identifiable group.
- **Threat Credibility Indicators**: Evaluation criteria include:
  - *Specificity*: Stating a specific date, time, physical location, or weapon.
  - *Capability*: The offender demonstrates access to weapons, surveillance information, or proximity to the victim.
  - *Pattern*: Prior stalking, escalating hostility, or concurrent doxxing attacks.

│                 THREAT CREDIBILITY MATRIX                   │
├──────────────────────────────┬──────────────────────────────┤
│ High Risk (Immediate Action) │ Low / Hyperbolic (Warning) │
│ • Real-world address named   │ • Generic gaming rage        │
│ • Photographs of weapons     │ • "I'll destroy you next round"│
│ • Clear schedule / timeline  │ • Obvious metaphorical joke  │

```
---
## 2. Exclusion Boundaries and Scope Limits
- **Gaming Hyperbole & Competitive Venting**: Frustration expressed in gaming channels without real-world capability or concrete targets (e.g., *"I'm going to eliminate your squad next round"* or *"I'm dying from this lag"*) is excluded from violent threat enforcement.
- **Fictional Roleplay / Writing**: Creative writing in dedicated roleplay channels clearly established as fantasy or sci-fi context without real-world targets.
---
## 3. Moderator Response Protocol
1. **Assess Immediate Threat Level**: If a real-world address or weapon photo is accompanied by a violent threat, act immediately.
2. **Channel Protection**: Delete the threatening message to prevent panic and notify server leadership.
3. **Immediate Ban & Escalation**: Ban the offending user and report the user ID and message ID to Discord Trust & Safety under the *Imminent Physical Danger* category.
